Mary Hurley and Cody Pucillo instituted as Lectors
During the March 10-11 ANCC Lenten Clergy Retreat at St John Baptist Convent in Mendham, NJ, ANCC Presiding Bishop, the Most Rev. George R. Lucey, FCM, admitted seminarians Mary Hurley and Cody Pucillo as Lectors, one of the first formal steps toward ordination. The rite of Institution took place during the closing Mass on Saturday, attended by many clergy from the northeast region of the Church as well as by family and friends of the new Lectors. Pictured left to right are Cody Pucillo, Mary Hurley, and Bishop George.
As a Bible is placed in the hands of the new Lectors, the Bishop says,
“Take this book of holy scripture and be faithful in handing on the word of God, so that it may grow strong in the hearts of God’s people.”
